Cultural Supervision

Cultural supervision is a sharing process between the supervisor and supervisee, facilitated by the supervisor to providing reflection, encouragement and sharing of ideas. It offers a culturally safe space to navigate challenges, and focus on managing stress, vicarious trauma and burnout. Cultural supervision acknowledges the cultural load carried by First Nations peoples whom are often in dual/multiple roles, juggling complex relationships intersecting with self, work, family and the wider community. It provides cultural context and promotes well-being, reflective practise and professional development, deconstruct power imbalances and redesigning unsafe systems.
